Problem Note 35875: A publish failed error occurs when publishing a model

You might receive the following error when publishing a model from SAS® Model Manager:

Publish failed.

Clicking the Details button returns the following information:

Error: Physical file does not exist.
ERROR: ARCHIVE transport engine encountered errors while publishing this package.
ERROR:  Error encountered publishing to default archive path.

This error occurs when the publishing SAS Model Manager channel is not accessible or is not found on the workspace server (for example, when the publishing channel is on the SAS® Analytics Platform server).

To avoid the error, make sure that these conditions are met for environments that were created during configuration or migration:

  • The publishing channel exists on the workspace server.
  • SAS Model Manager users have full access to the content location of the environment.
